Psalms 3:5-8
I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustained me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.
7 Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. 8 Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah
Did you sleep good last night despite your stressful day yesterday?
Given the stress that David faced; it is miraculous that he was able to enjoy a night's rest and the same goes for us daily. God's sustaining power AND LOVE FOR US will give us the gift of rest even in the most troubling times. And we all can admit that this is the most troubling times; if not in your own life, just in the world today.
I will not be afraid: There is no reason to fear when God is in control; HE is the protector of all.
God promises in this Psalm that He does not forsake us or leave us. He actually will RISE up against our enemies and strike them at the source of their strength; which gives us freedom from that threat or fear.
Salvation belongs to the LORD and HE blesses US!
It is said that one meaning of the Hebrew word translated salvation is "room to breathe"
If you LET GOD, He will provide you room to breathe! You must have faith and trust in the Lord and He will provide all that you need.
The scripture says: Your blessing is upon Your people... if you trust and have faith; giving all over to God, this will set the standard and template for the rest of the church; even for your family, your community and even in your work place. Your faith and trust in the Lord will set that standard for everyone around you. Rest in His promises!
