Who’s Ready for A Revival

Revival- an act or instance of reviving: the state of being revived: such as a: renewed attention to or interest in something. b: a new presentation or publication of something old.

Some think of the word Revival as an often highly emotional evangelistic meeting or series of meetings; such as tent revivals or week-long revivals in the church from time to time. During those times there seems to be an OUTPOURING of the Holy Spirit. Souls are saved and sometimes re dedicated due to the over whelming spirit of God. When that happens, it’s like a fire that cannot be controlled. We don’t care what anyone else is doing, all we care about is what is between us and God. The Holy Spirit seems to “show up” more during these revivals, but what about in our everyday life and every time we are in church? Where is the Holy Spirit then? Are we keeping the Holy Spirit tucked away because it’s not a revival? Are we scared to act on what the spirit is telling us? Have we lost what God so freely gave us? The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Holy Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and is Almighty God. As such He is personal and also fully God, co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and Jesus the Son of God. So, if we are keeping the Holy Spirit out of our everyday lives and/or out of our church services, then aren’t we keeping God out of the church? After we are saved, the Holy Spirit lives in us. If we are in church and the Holy Spirit tugs at our heart to speak a word, pray for someone, shout praises unto God; we are to obey. If we are not doing what we are called to do, we are not obeying God.

Now back to the revival, who’s ready?

John said in Matthew 3:11

1 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Amen!

Then in Acts 2:2-4- The Coming of the Holy Spirit

2 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

The Day of Pentecost was the day of first fruits of Christ’s church, the beginning of the harvest of souls who would come to know Christ and be joined together through the work of the Holy Spirit. It says they were all with one accord but what does all with one accord mean? It means they do it together or at the same time, because they agree about what should be done. And while they were there all with one accord they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues.

Praise Jesus!

Also, in Acts 4:24 & 31

24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them

31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

AMEN!

I believe we as a church, all with one accord in one place, should assemble together and ask GOD for a REVIVAL- a renewing of the mind, a new presentation. We should ask to be BOLD, to be set on fire by the OUTPOURING of the Holy Spirit. Let’s ask God to do it Again… Bring us another Day of Pentecost and RE fill us with the Holy Spirit. Revive us, renew us, light us on fire for God! If we assemble together, in one accord for God; He will show up and show out! God will Revive us. We just have to ask; THEN obey!

Praise Jesus!!!!!

We think that showing up for church, singing a few songs and listening to the Word is all we are required to do. But God sent his Holy Spirit to go with us and sometimes we just sit on the pew and watch others OBEY the Holy Spirit, all the while the Holy Spirit is tugging at our heart to move.

Titus 3:5 says

5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.

Not by works of righteousness but by the kindness and the love of God, we are saved. The Holy Spirit makes us new by the cleansing of regeneration – NEW BIRTH. BUT it’s through the RENEWING of the Holy Spirit that the continual process of Christian living is enabled. Being obedient to the Holy Spirit results in growth of character and good works.

If we are dead in spirit, we have to cry out to God to Revive us according to His word.

Psalm 119:25

25 My soul clings to the dust; Revive me according to Your word.

In our despair, humiliation, bondage, emptiness, sin, etc; our souls will cling to the dust hoping for God to deliver us- REVIVE us according to His word, His Spirit and His grace.

WE NEED A REVIVAL!!!!

Isaiah 57:15

15 For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

We must humble ourselves and ask God to revive the spirit within us. If we do this with a contrite heart; one of remorse, God will REVIVE our heart & spirit.

I hope this will build up in you a spirit of Revival. I am believing for an OUTPOURING of the Holy Spirit in this new year. Will you join me in agreement; all in one accord?
