Ephesians 1:18-19
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people,19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Paul's faithful description of God's power does not allow even a hint of hopelessness or despair to filter through. Instead he talks of the "glorious inheritance" of a future in heaven. Paul's hope was not in earthly people, but in Heaven, eternity and God.
The prayer that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened refers to a spiritual understanding. The eyes of his heart could see clearly. Are the eyes of your heart open?
Prayer- Thank you wonderful Lord for all your do. Help me, through your Holy Spirit, to grasp the wonderful future that You have made possible for me. Amen!
