Be a Daniel

Writer's picture: Lenora VanceLenora Vance

I came across this story this morning & wanted to share. We honestly don't know what God has planned & we should all remember we are not here to "make the final decision" we are here to pray & listen to God... believe in His word & His will!

Continue to pray church & believe that God already has it under control! Be a Daniel!

Daniel 6:10

“When Daniel learned that the decree had been signed and posted, he continued to pray just as he had always done. His house had windows in the upstairs that opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he knelt there in prayer, thanking and praising his God.” ‭‭

Just imagine what Daniel felt; what Hanania, Mishael, and Azariah, (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) felt when they were exiled in Babylon. Their leader didn’t follow God. Their faith and the culture they were placed in collided. Sound familiar? Our faith and the culture of our society wrestle and contest with each other.

So what did those guys do when that happened? They were obedient to God’s word, obedient to their faith. They were steadfast. They were grounded. They were strong and determined to follow the Lord obediently regardless of the outcome! Regardless of the threat of bodily harm, social outcast, and any other negative result you can fathom.

Let us be so grounded in the Word and so in love with our creator that we are obedient, regardless of who is in the White House, Senate or House of Representatives!

Buckle that Belt of Truth. Put on your Helmet of Salvation. Be equipped with your Breastplate of Righteousness. Carry the Shield of Faith. Dig in and stay in the Sword of the Spirit. Be in PRAYER.

It is time to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Let’s armor up! Stand firm! Spread the gospel! Love each other! Be obedient!

(I did not write this and I did change it a little but it was worth sharing!)
